Marathon Circles and clubs meet in Marathon
Marathon community circles met February 18 with hostesses Mrs Jett Stewart and Mrs B L Hampton. Programs ranged from Royal Service to Bible study. The day included refreshments for members and guests, with plans for an all day Season of Prayer for Home Missions on March 4.

A roundup from the area reports several travelers passing through the Presidio airport over the week. Mr Mack Hood and Otis Miles were en route to Mexico City via Presidio Tuesday. Thursday W J Stewart returned to Longview from El Paso. F R Brooks of Tucson visited his brother R H Brooks for the weekend. Marathon ranchers including B L Hampton and R E Stewart are starting sheep shearing as spring work begins.

Alpine Lions Club Meeting Adopts Park Project
The Alpine Lions club approved promoting the city park as a club project to be carried through to completion with board approval. A musical program by five Alpine High School girls featured Lelette Barrow Gaile Barrow Carolyn Cowley Betty Jane Morgan Ina Bess Nichols. Mr Gordon Barrow attended as a guest. Lions voted to back Joe Tombs for district governor, praising his long service to Lions.
