Rev Best Accepts Call As Alpine Baptist Pastor
Rev James R Best of Lufkin has accepted the pastorate at First Baptist Church in Alpine. He will move with his family in early March and preach his first sermon on Sunday March 5. He has led Clawson Baptist Church in Lufkin since June 1966 and previously served in Eustace Beaumont and Nome. He was born in Woodville and holds a BS from East Texas Baptist College and a BD from Southwestern Seminary.

The mayor will prepare and submit a renewed workable plan to HUD, detailing past achievements and next year’s programs, with input from the city engineer and city secretary.
