Grandpa Culpepper Dies after long Lavaca County life
Francis G. Culpepper known as Grandpa Culpepper died at his home near Old Sweet Home October 21 1911 aged 9 years 8 months 21 days He was born January 31 1804 in Edgefield District South Carolina He immigrated to Texas in 1851 and settled in Lavaca County with his family later living with daughter Mrs B F Burke He survived by eight of sixteen children and hundreds of descendants He joined the Primitive Baptist faith in Alabama and was a longtime church leader The burial was at the Mount Olive Church family plot with many relatives and friends in attendance The Hallettsville Herald offers condolences.
