Sheriff Jim Moore pursued an alleged swindler near El Paso but Austin authorities misidentified the man. Two brothers differed in height and complexion, leading to a mistaken description. The captured suspect was returned to the authorities.
Federal Meat Inspection Service supervises a massive ballasting operation moving over 40 billion pounds of material and more than 1 000 000 whole carcasses toward Big Lake over several months. A 5 500 000 part pit near the oil field and a Santa Fe cut are noted as sources. Trainmaster F C Noessel says the line from the city to Alpine will be ballasted to Big Lake. The work is to continue for months under supervision.
The document notes the first Texas mail route from San Antonio to San Diego via El Paso in July 1857 with a monthlong trip each way. It also mentions a second line from St Louis to San Francisco via Sherman and El Paso, begun September 1, 1858, spanning 3 203 miles. It ends with a trespass warning from Elsinore Cattle Co. and a superintendent advertisement date.

By order of the Medina County District Court a sheriff sale is set for January 5 1915 before the Brewster County Court House in Alpine Texas. Property described as Blocks 49 and 9 Hancock Addition Alpine is levied to satisfy a 648 18 judgment in favor of D'Hanis Brick and Tile Company against A M Turner.
