A 2 p.m. meeting Monday December 18 will discuss screwworm control. County Agent B G Hill announced in the Jeff Davis County Courthouse, Fort Davis. Dr Baumhover of the Agricultural Research Service Kerrville will show a film and lead, with Dolph Briscoe of Uvalde and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association slated to speak. Ranchers and interested residents are urged to attend and indicate if Brewster and Jeff Davis Counties should join the program now active in many Texas counties. The program is voluntary.

Alpine Girls Defeat Marfa 77-22 in basketball
Alpine girls rout Marfa 77 to 22 led by Mary Ann Sanchez with 20 points and 18 by Aida Hernandez and Rosie Adamson. Marfa’s Dawn Shannon scored 22 for her team. Alpine B team won 27 to 5 with Elidia Chavarria scoring 16. The Alpine boys head to Pecos tournament this weekend.

Central PTA to host Christmas musical and social
The Central School PTA meets in Central gym at 7 30 p m Monday December 18 for a Christmas musical program and social hour. Dick Bryan presents the Central School Beginners Band in their first appearance and the Junior High Band performs four numbers. A nursery will be provided by the Girl Scouts at the Scout Hut.
