The American Legion Auxiliary hosts a regular meeting at the Legion hall tonight at 7 30. Members are urged to attend for plans on Christmas boxes and a district convention report from Sanderson. Dues may be paid and subscriptions to National News solicited.
Mrs Gene Benson hosted the Lucky Thirteen club with six other ladies present and Mrs Mollison winning high prizes. At Ced Anthony’s I Delta Slam event guests included Anja Wilson Jr Russell Duncan Paul Vogt and others with prizes to Mrs Clanton and Mrs Nelson. Mrs C D Wood hosted the Wednesday Bridge club with two tables and high scores to Mrs Stovell and Mrs Thompson.
News from Marfa reports the marriage of Turney Fletcher to Miss Jimmy McDonald of Johnstown Arkansas. The ceremony took place in the Christian church at Marfa on Thanksgiving Day. Turney is son of Mr and Mrs Henry Fletcher longtime Alpine Brewster county residents now ranchers in Presidio county. Following a honeymoon trip the couple began their life together.

The W M S of the Baptist church held a five day prayer week at the church to support the Lottie Moon Christmas offering. A mission program was presented each afternoon and the Friday offering date was announced. Attendees Monday included Mesdames Fulmer Kidd Harvey Holman Guthrie Calloway Reeder Binion Johnson Williams Lankford Slover Spence Bennett.

A hunter on the Earl McElroy ranch in Nine Points Big Bend region shot a coyote wearing a cowbell during the hunting season. The hunter heard the bell entice him and found the animal in bushes before firing. The origin of the bell and who attached it remain a mystery.
