Thanksgiving and bridge party fill Alpine events
Mrs Watson hosted a birthday party for Miss Ni on November 28 featuring a bridge game and a decorative cake. High score honors went to Mrs Kathleen Newell, while Miss Earth Cooper won the consolation prize. Attendees included Kath Wren Newell, Mamie Lease, Edith Cooper, and others. The Forty-two Club met with autumn decor and a salad course. New members Mr Pope and Mrs Zeb Decte joined. The Endeavor Society hosted a junior Christian event with games and treats. Local clubs gathered for a Davis Mountain Federation meeting in Marathon, with notes of an automobile accident near Marathon. Thanksgiving Day dinner featured F. E. Gillett on a Pullman ride with one passenger.

Davis Mountain Federation study meeting at Marathon High School
The third semi annual meeting of the Davis Mountain Federation of Women’s Clubs convened in Marathon Texas at the High School Auditorium on November 27 191. President Maud Uames presided. Delegates from Alpine Fort Stockton Marfa and Valentine attended alongside members from Marathon. A varied program featured papers on equalization of taxes a Big Bend district history map and plans to mark historic sites. Officers for the next year were elected and a three course lunch followed with toasts to the new year and to guests before a 430 pm adjournment.
