Slow sale slows Big Bend cattle trade weighs on prices
With little demand, cattle from the Big Bend area moved slowly this season. California buyers and El Paso Packing company purchases dominated load lots, paying around three and a quarter cents for heifer calves and four and a quarter for steer calves. Shipping of recently bought cattle begins next week. Also reported, Marathon resident Thomas W. Sansom died at 61 years. He lived in the Marathon area, had five children, and funeral services were held with a large local procession.
