Mrs. C A Brown hosted a hillside picnic for family and guests including Jane McGrath Myra Prater Edilene Jones Lois Bailey Ernest Brown Alfred Neil and Eula Brown on Saturday evening near the site of the planned Brown home The family noted the well and swimming pool are under construction at the site.
Judge and Mrs. W. Van Sickle hosted a Thursday dinner for guests Misses Jane McGrath and Mrya Prater. Also present were their house guests Mrs. Sterling McCuan of Dresden Tennessee and Mrs. Frances B. Van Sickle.

Mesdames W B Hancock and Georgia I Smither hosted a multi day gathering from Monday afternoon to Wednesday morning in honor of Mrs H Lee Hancock of Corona New Mexico. A buffet supper occurred Monday evening and a swimming party with a picnic supper followed Tuesday afternoon at the Hancock ranch. Guests included Mrs N L Hancock the honoree and Misses Thalia Gillett Ethel Watters Lorena Baker Irene Nevill Rose Brewer and Mrs Ira Ogden.
Miss Myra Prater principal of Beall School Paso, noted for teaching at Sul Ross Summer Normal, has been highlighted for her long service and impact in local education communities.
Miss Prater, education executive at Beall School, oversees a campus with about seventeen hundred Mexican students. Her work earns praise from Alpine citizens and Sul Ross College celebrates securing top Texas instructors for its faculty.

County Treasurer M T Chastain and daughter Mrs Clyde Johnson and John motor to Captain J Gillette's ranch near Marfa Thursday and back the same day.
