Mrs S F Woodward of San Antonio broke her left wrist Saturday afternoon while returning to their car after opening a gate on a steep hill near Shhefield. They reached Fort Stockton Sunday, found no doctors, and later received medical care from Mrs Woodward's sister Mrs J C Bird before continuing to El Paso.

The August term of Brewster county district court opened under Judge Claude Sutton. Grand jury members were sworn in after replacements were found. foreman Bb J Bourland led the panel. Bailiffs were C Dugatt and W H Harrison. The judge stressed secrecy and that indictments must be based on best judgment without harming the accused. At a recent Alpine Cemetery Association meeting officers adopted Article 17 of the constitution requiring lot owners to pay monthly assessments for upkeep. One-half lot owners pay fifty cents while one lot or more owners pay one dollar, payable to the treasurer.
