Paisano Camp Meeting Origins Date to Turn of Century
The Paisano Baptist Encampment in Texas traces to cowboys gathering under live oaks for prayer meetings before the century. Rev. L. R. Millican organized a camp in 1913 attracting 16 attendees. By 1921 the revival reorganized with 1000 acres bought and Millican elected president. The assembly grew with a tabernacle in 1922 and later facilities expansions.
