Fort Davis Fort Purchase Option Reported
The John James estate heirs granted an option to sell about one square mile of land at 40 dollars per acre to A C Chapin and Federal Judge T W Davidson as intermediaries for a Fort Davis state park project. The option expires in six months. Ed Page said his brother Holland Page was the low bidder on Davis Mountain Park highway construction from Nunn Hill to Moore Ranch. About 40 men are listed for enlistment in the Texas Defense Guard as the Fort Davis company is promoted.
