W D Kincaid and many others travel to Uvalde Marathon Marfa and San Antonio for business and visits. Rail disruptions and a railroad yard bustle mix with rain showers, baptist and Methodist services, new projects and plans for Alpine including a town clock school clock and telephone system. A notable shooting and a police killing in San Antonio contrast with detailed community notes and local trade growth.
H Larkin Co announces a multi day sale of Women's and Misses' Summer Underwear Hosiery and Ready Made Garments followed by a Men and Boys line extension. Goods bought in New York case lots to clear space for store improvements starting May 1st or earlier. Prices cut deeply to attract early shoppers in Alpine.
Mr. J. Mitchel Nash of Waco wed Miss Maude Cartwright of Fort Davis in the Fort Davis Methodist church at 2 30 p m. Rev. W E Foulks of Alpine officiated. Attendants included E R Nash and E R Nash Jr of Waco L A Robinson of Marlin and Prof. E E Edwards of Alpine. The ceremony drew Fort Davis society and ended with a departure by train to Marfa.
Brewster County officials publish candidate notices for November elections. T. M. Newton and D. A. T. Waton seek Tax Assessor and Sheriff respectively. B. C. Thomas runs for re election as County Judge while M. A. Born seeks District and County Clerk. J. W. Puxurs again seeks Tax Assessor. B. F. Billingby runs for Animal Inspector and a candidate for County Surveyor is listed with ongoing support requests.
