Santa Fe Agriculture booklet sparks West Texas altitude debate
A Texas reader objects to an Agriculture pamphlet by Santa Fe Rail Road claiming Texas has altitudes up to 4000 feet. The writer cites Alpine at 4500 feet and Guadalupe Peak at 7835 feet, naming many higher elevations across West Texas. The note also teases local columnists Cas Edwards and Wilfred, and ends with a weekend visit from Mr and Mrs W J Foxworth of Cisco.
