Alpine AAUW Spring Incheon Held At Holland Hotel

Garden Club Hosts Plant Exchange and Plant Giveaway
Last Friday at 1 p.m. the Methodist church basement hosted a Garden Club plant exchange with a covered dish luncheon for members. Mrs Harfst and committee chaired the event, delegates were elected for state meetings, and about 1800 plants and seed packets were offered to attendees. The club also highlighted generosity in passing on mum plants and supported beautification efforts with city leaders.

Winter and Cotter Furnish Barbecue Supper on Lawn
Mr Winter and Mr Mre sme hasted to a barbecue supper at the rear lawn of Mr and Mrs Bill Cotters home. The meat was FPA lamb bought recently by Mr Winter. Guests enjoyed barbecued lamb beans potato chips pickles onions salad cake and tea. Tiny guests were present.

Circles Study Portrait of Pilgrim at Methodist WSCS Meeting

Expansion Plan for McDonald Observatory Department Announced
Fort Davis April 1 At a meeting of the observatory staff Dr Otto Struve outlined a ten year expansion and reorganization plan for the University of Chicago Department of Astronomy extending to Yerkes Williams Bay and McDonald Observatory Mount Locke Mount Davis The plan creates a theoretical section under Dr S Chandrasekhar and names Dr Gerard P Kuiper as director with Dr W A Milner continuing as assistant director Don W W Morgan named Managing Editor of the Astrophysical Journal and Chicago teaching to be revived under De Vries Pase Struve to reside at Williams Bay Fort Davis and Mount Locke Fort Davis.
