Minneapolis March 25 The withdrawal of Senator Davis from the presidential race was the sensational feature of the state Republican convention. The move cleared the atmosphere for McKinley forces as W P Roberts of Hennepin introduced a rousing motion adopted by rising vote. Delegates at large R G Evans George Thompson L P Hunt and C F Hendryx were chosen unanimously. The platform for sound money and protection was adopted after a committee fight on the Ohio plank. Each delegate pledged support to protection reciprocity and Mauroeinm. T B Walker and E G Holmes named electors at large.
