A detachment of the Macabebee twenty-first company fought a large insurgent force near Jipa Ta jangas. Macabebee Le Han was killed and another fighter wounded as the enemy entrenched. Insurgents numbered over 300 armed with Remington and Mauser rifles and ample ammunition. Martin, a teacher at Manchin, was captured then released after being tied in a hammock. Eleven police from Catawag were captured, later released after being carried off but with no resistance.
