Mine Horror Twenty-Eight Workmen Killed

On September 20 at the Mansfeld mine in the Crystal Falls district near Patng Michigan a cave collapsed trapping twenty eight workers and destroying about 000,000 in property. The mine runs under the river and levels below the surface, with the river flooding the shaft after the collapse. Twenty escaped, twenty eight perished, and bodies were not expected to be recovered.
