Swen City items note Dr Woodcock of Armstrong visiting Monday for consultation with Dr Clemesha. Tarry Kruse spent Sunday in Watre mont Minn. Mrs 5 BP Barr returned Monday from a five week visit with Des Moines friends. A Ringquist has the frame work up of his pen house with carpenters rushing to finish. Rev Peter Gettman of Grant town Ship preached at the Baptist shareh last Sunday evening to a large audience. Henry Kollash and wife visited Estherville one day this week. I I Sweet of Illinois oversees his large crop on his Swea township farm.

The Grand Army post and local citizens protested the reappointment of Algona’s current postmaster. Congressman Connor stated it is his duty to handle such matters and will recommend reappointing the incumbent.
Armstrong Journal notes A. D. Clarke sold nearly half a million dollars worth of Dakota lands. He dismisses concerns about the Algona post office and hints at future use of funds to influence Kossuth County politics. He warns that when Andy opens a political jackpot the small fry must stay out.
Public sale at the Ernest Werman plate in Union Township begins 10 am on Monday December 2. Readable items include 10 dairy cows, a yearling steer, two yearling heifers, six spring calves, 48 shoats, one sow and pigs, a Poland China boar, farm implements, 2000 bushels corn, 10 acres corn, 20 tons hay, a shepherd pup, and other articles. Tickets for Christmas and New Year excursions sold to stations within 200 miles on the Chicago Milwaukee and St Paul lines. Round trip price set by fare and one bid. No excursion ticket under $1.
