Three eastern travelers including John Sederholm and brothers Geo and Chas Huffman visited Algona. After buying alcohol they escorted Sederholm to a box car where he passed out, prompting sheriffs to arrest the two earthquake survivors. Sederholm recovered while doctors found no poison or criminal evidence.
The county attorney and sheriff concluded the incident held little significance. The sheriff escorted the sufferers to the Milwaukee road and issued a tie pass west. Sederholm was released. It appeared Sederholm sought a drink and managed to obtain one.

The Algona Courier reports H F Meyer of Lotts Creek township tried a quack grass destroyer machine from Austin Minnesota. Meyers letter says roots are pulled and left on ground, with roots up to five feet long. The machine is hailed as a workable solution to quack grass, encouraging community use and shared labor to reclaim fields and pastures.
Obituary notes six year old Lucius Clement of Bancroft after his Hettinger ND parents sought health aid. He showed unusual piety reading religious cards and asking questions about God and death. He foretold burial clothes and a keepsake waist pocket, then peacefully died. Pallbearers were four cousins, lodges sent flowers, and deep sympathy was expressed.
