Sexton Hosts Mixed Sports With Wrestling Victory By Thomas
In Sexton last Saturday a wrestling match between James Thomas and Clyde Chitty drew a 25 cent crowd. Thomas won the first fall in eight minutes, Chitty the second in fifteen, and Thomas clinched the decisive finish in twenty. A pony race and a dog contest were planned but fell through due to a lame horse and a no-show dog. Local clergy and musicians provided evening entertainment, with Rev. Porterfield delivering the key talk and Miss Zell Barnes contributing to the musical program.
