In Whittemore last Monday residents faced a house fire started by an attic blaze. The Meyers family escaped with little left but their home. St Benedict School Board raises teachers salaries
At a recent St Benedict school board meeting the two teaching grades received monthly pay increases of three dollars each raising first grade to 36.00 and second grade to 33.00. The old board was re elected. Local residents and staff are noted in Districts 8 and 9 with directors J W Robinson and L Tannahill. A number of town and farm residents are mentioned in town news including Bob Goethe, Edward Rahm, John Krebsbach, and local business moves. A diphtheria case at Hy Seiler’s home led to quarantine and Ed Rahm’s return from illness.
