Sherman township citizens packed the court room on Thursday to challenge Supt. Belknapp. They charged localities and teachers were being discriminated against and warned that 270 pupils lacked schooling due to teacher shortages and wage conflicts. Belknapp defended his record, citing low enrollment in country schools and higher wages elsewhere, while promising to work for rural students. A five member committee was appointed to investigate and later met with Belknapp. the panel found insufficient evidence to sustain any charge against the superintendent.
