Rather Dobberstein came back Friday from Brownaville Minnesota after a month gathering lava and volcanic rock to finish his grotto. He secured a carload mainly of lava rock and believes it sufficient. Brownsville residents aided by hauling the rock despite peak season.
The Kosuth County Board of Supervisors met on May 28 1916 with all members present. They discussed shared drainage duties with Palo Alto County for West Bend area roads and approved contractors Linnan Clancy and Arthur Mcrose to continue drainage work. A list of precincts and names followed, with audited claims and a forfeiture of contract for Drainage District No 60 subdrain No 2 due to default. Judges and clerks for the June 5 1916 primary election were appointed. The meeting adjourned sine die.
