Burlington Iowa July 6 an example of rising farm land values in this part of Iowa centered on Mount Union and nearby land. John Dobre man owner of large acreage was asked to name a price but did not want to sell. He agreed to 250 per acre, $2000 down to bind the bargain. The would be purchaser backed out with a $2900 refund and a $1260 bonus paid to drop the deal. The transaction would have netted about 40000, but the landowner chose to walk away and escape a bad bargain. Land nearby sells at 150 to 200 per acre, and the first offer likely tops the market.

Auto case ends with five dollar fine at Gilmore City court
