Woman and son Arrested in Bedside Shooting Near Fonda
A Sioux City Journal special reports William Pike, a prominent farmer near Fonda, was shot in bed on Sunday night and survived. His wife and his son were arrested on Monday evening on charges of attempted murder, with the wife claiming unconsciousness at the time. Authorities found no outside intruder, and a neighbor says the Pikes often quarreled though no ill treatment was proven. The justice released Mrs Pike and her son for lack of sufficient evidence.
