Richman Arrested on Federal Mail Receipt Charge
A dispatch from Estherville reports Fred H. Richman a prominent real estate dealer and land owner was arrested today by Deputy U S Marshal D Phelan of Fort Dodge on a charge of violating federal laws. G H Richtmyer filed information accusing Richman of receiving Richtmyer's mail and not returning it. Richman claimed a mistaken identity due to name similarity and said he thought the notice and seed shipment were his. He appeared before a U S commissioner for explanation.

Old and respected settler Pettibone of Kossuth County died Tuesday morning after Christmas at his Germania home following a stroke. A Connecticut native, he was 66 last May, lived mainly in Cedar Rapids then Kossuth, with six years in Missouri. Survived by second wife and two sons C J Algona and Harry Bancroft. Funeral at Germania conducted by Methodist and Presbyterian ministers. interment Bancroft under Oda Fallows director. Former Bancroft mayor and longtime county figure.
