Green Goods Swindle Reemerges From Boston Now
A New England warning outlines the green goods scam revived from Boston targeting Ketman and Wiemer of Ledyard. Con artists send a fake confidential letter offering large sums for 500 dollars, using staged government money and newspaper clippings to lure gullible victims. The con proceeds with a staged meeting, fake notes, and a bogus large cash package to extract funds, then vanish. The piece cautions that fast gains tempt honest men and urges slow, steady, legitimate work for financial security.
