Old scrap renews battle over Corwith LuVerne lands
The Corwith independent district and GuVerne township clash again over four LuVerne and four Prairie sections. Judge Clarke and a county board commission awarded Corwith about 150. The dispute references school taxes and territory boundaries stretching back to a prior supreme court decision. A separate fire at a local lumber yard and depot area caused heavy losses with limited insurance. Nearby railroad and elevator firms can absorb damages, and rebuilding is likely. Warm rooms for rent offered at the Durdall Annex trade notice.
