Hutchins Iowa March 16 1903 The Algona Milling and Grain Co Algona Iowa Gentlemen Having retired from business here I beg to make the following statement in behalf of your Fancy Patent Flour I began business here in August 1901 and made my first purchase of 20 sacks of your flour August 30 1901 It was two weeks before I disposed of this flour and I ordered again My trade as I increased on your flour that December 16 1901 less than four months later I bought 4 car loads of 500 sacks and have always purchased in that quantity since that time The flour from the start gave good satisfaction but I think the last I received could not be excelled in quality by any Minnesota or Iowa brands To satisfy the trade at this point your Fancy Patent Flour will have to be handled by my successors almost my entire trade used Yours very truly

Weisbrod Festival Surprise Honors Peter Welsbrod at Home
Last Thursday evening in Fenton a surprise party hosted by relatives and friends honored Peter Welsbrod on Thanksgiving. Guests included brothers Jacob Philip Joho Mike Will and their wives, sister Mrs Mike Hayenga, daughters Mrs Jobo and Louie Newel and their husbands, and John Bollinger and wife. A warm welcome in the form of a gift armchair capped the gathering, followed by a bounteous supper. The article notes the Welsbrod family as prominent Kossuth county landowners, with Peter the elderly member retiring to leisure in Benton. The report adds a side note on an 8 o’clock business meeting at the First National Bank about aiding Mr Russell to start a plow factory in town, with discussion of the plow’s merits and manufacturing process.
