How the Guaranty Law Works in Oklahoma Bank Failures
Guthrie Oklahoma August 21 The International Bank of Coalgate failed May 21 owing about 37000 to depositors. The state banking board used the guaranty law to cover deposits placing 24000 in the bank for quick payment. All but 500 of that amount has been repaid to the state and cash remains to settle the balance. The bank nearly pays out, but depositors were spared anxiety and expense by the guaranty law.
