Beck Arrests Disturbers in Nebraska Agency Clash

In Pender Nebraska July 26 a confrontation involving W H Peebles Lemmon of Flournoy Land Co and other anti Beck supporters led to their arrest on armed resistance warrants. Omaha reports that Nebraska’s oleo law will ban sale of imitation butter and cheese within the state plate showing the real product. Colored imitation butter cannot be displayed by hotels or restaurants, though uncolored oleo may be sold inside. Local demand for genuine butter rises as butterine disappears, with Omaha shipments pressured to eastward markets. About forty lumber dealers from South Dakota assembled in Bronx Falls on July 24 to organize the South Dakota Lumbermen's association as a subsidiary to the Northwestern association. S. G.
