Blydenburgh visited the courthouse this morning with the indictment. officials assured him trials would be set soon. He visited the house where Irene died after a criminal operation performed by Dr. BE Gadd at Dickinson’s instance.
Dota Sept. 18 judge Hvana halted rebuttal and instructed verdict of acquittal for Blydenburgh, the once-noted Bidora leader known as Modern Bluebeard. Convicted in 1904 of murdering his wife, he faced sensational rumors about two other deaths. His brother Julius Blydenburgh publicly supported his fight for freedom, resigning a Brooklyn post to aid the case.
In Webster County Iowa a freight collision on the Illinois Central this morning killed H J Weatherford of Independence Missouri. He was the caboose messenger and died instantly. H Kell of Fort Dodge was injured though not seriously. The first train moved to water at a siding leaving the caboose and two boxcars on the main line. A second coal laden train crashed into the standing cars telescoping the caboose and derailing two boxcars.
Des Moines reports Dr E Luther Stevens a leading Iowa tuberculosis specialist and president of the State Society for the Prevention of Tuberculosis abandoned his wife and two children after revealing he loves another woman. Boone Sept 12 John Hornstein former editor of the Boone County Democrat and a former postmaster and prominent Iowa politician died Sunday at his Chicago home. He moved there eight years ago to enter the commercial and printing business and achieved financial success. He remains to be brought back here for burial.
