Robert Mather president of the Rock Island Railway arranged a Burlington special from Des Moines to Knoxville Illinois to honor his mother on her golden wedding anniversary. Mason City Tennessee Oct 22 An unusual instance occurred when juryman Gores Peck of Cedar Lake who sat on the Reynolds case was excused from further service. The jury had been instructed and retired to deliberate when Peck sent for a cancellation due to a seriously ill child. Attorneys agreed to proceed with eleven jurors as allowed by law.
