Socialism became a key issue with Tay Jaeger Burlington named delegate to the national convention set for St Louis in November. Cornell Bluffs chosen for next state convention site. Banquet honors for visiting delegates marked the close.

Chippewa Walls Wis May 16. Sawmills in the Chippewa valley may shut down if Dietz is allowed to continue holding up the drive. Sixty men from Cameron Junction were sent to capture Dietz dead or alive after layoffs. Judge Varish says the issue is Dietz and the court, noting Dietz disobeyed an injunction and wounded two men. Milwaukee May 16. Sheriff Peterson has yet to seek militia aid, relying on his force to capture Dietz. Citizens asked the governor for arms. guns were sent but later returned to Hayward as the company let its men go.
