In Clinton Iowa Judge P B Wolfe ruled that county boards of registration may work eight days, not thirteen, for the forthcoming election. The decision holds the boards must be in session on four additional days: the Thursday and Friday before election, the election Saturday, and the day after. The case Heyer vs Clinton County tested the time allowed for board of registration work.
Early morning fire in Humboldt Iowa damaged Koontz and Steiner drug store and swept through Meyers barber shop Dealy restaurant and Kearpe cigar store. The State bank building suffered severe damage along with the county attorney Taft law library. Loss estimated at over 20000.
William Mullaney, a well known Continental Insurance agent in this section, was arrested in Webster City by Spirit Lake authorities for forgery of checks. The amount is unknown but believed considerable. He denies guilt calling it spite work. He was regarded as one of the best agents, though he has a reputation for excesses.

Mrs W H Corson wife of Cataract House proprietor died Saturday evening in Sioux Falls after a year long cancer illness. She was 58, leaving a husband and daughter. Funeral services were held this afternoon with a large attendance.
