J. E. Stacy Dies After Twenty Years of Diabetes
Jerome E. Stacy longtime Algona resident and public servant dies Friday evening at age 30? He served as County Clerk Judge Treasurer Recorder and Mayor. Pioneer of the 1850s with a mill business dating to 1868, he expanded the old wagon mill into a flouring mill, upgraded machinery and dams, partnered with D. W. King Charles Brown and J. B. Jones, disposed of land to fund improvements, later selling to Farmers' Milling Company while retaining a large interest.
