Fragmentary OCR of northern rail timetable shows bound trains for Chicago and Northwest, Iowa and Minnesota. Mentions passenger and freight accommodations with times around 11:20 pm and 11:55 pm. agent listed as M. A. Wink.
Local notes recount visitors and travels including Mrs French and nieces visiting Blue Earth, Norton heading to Colorado for health, and area residents visiting Pangburns. Dr Morse opposes a single tune merry go round until multiple tunes are allowed. Carnival attractions praised as clean and worthwhile with no hype. A Wesley beats Burt 8 to 3 in a nine inning ballgame with McDonald umpiring. Algona’s streets overflow with a crowded evening scene and lively town atmosphere.
Crowds enjoyed a busy day with hats removed and pranks in the air as Buffalo Bill appeared at the fair. Jo Misbach and wife returned home after weeks away touring St Louis and Chicago, buying winter goods. Peter R. Peterson, long ill at Ole Moe’s, died at 45 after cancer of the stomach, funeral held by Rev. Holmes. he was a distant Moe relative.
The Norris and Rowe traveling show promises two performances in Algona on an upcoming Wednesday. The grand circus carnival features twenty railway cars, mammoth tents, and an elevated stage with two rings for mid air and ground acts. It boasts a congress of wild animals and a full lineup of novelty acts designed to delight children and families alike.
The Dem crat announces that Brannagan will not rubber for reasons the public need not urge inquiry and that Mr Mayne and Miss Donovan agree there are moments when they wish to be alone. The Democrat reporter will not rubber or ask questions.
Algona residents plan a town carnival next week with two tickets each obtained by calling at the office for one admission to a single show. The Swea City Herald notes the effort and provides a write up.

The Bancroft Register reports attorney Barsley suffers a swollen ridge over his knuckles on the right hand. The lump is painful and present for about two months. Cause and cure remain unknown as he endures the ailment this week.
The Spencer report notes the removal of a large cottonwood in front of the old library on lower Main Street. Planted 32 years ago by Jacob Merritt, the stump measured five feet five inches in diameter and eight feet in circumference. Bridget Shea, a cousin to Bridgie Mugging, arrived home from Colorado Springs Saturday morning after about two years away. She found a delightful place and a healthful location.
Geo Boyle and wife with Miss May Butler visit the lakes for a pleasant outing. Also present are Mrs Thompson and daughter Ruth. The party enjoys good weather and likely fine fishing as reported by the Whittemore Champion.
News from the Ledyard Leader notes Joe Jenks’ remarkable ascent when his branch threw him high enough to shake hands with Venus inhabitants, delighting editorial readers with a fanciful tale of a surreal journey.
Miss Alice Ditsworth visits relatives in the area. Mrs. J W Curtis meets Mrs. Rawson in Algona. Albert Ditsworth and family visit Bancroft. Miss Flora Sheldon stays two weeks at the Browns. Miss Lydia Hayke returns to Bancroft after two weeks nearby. Claude Nicoulin and wife settled in the Ayers place south of town. Crops look fine and prospects for corn are good if weather holds. Timothy hay eight vs last year, wild hay near average.
Bancroft residents report visits from Blanche Davis in Armstrong and Addie Yeager returning from Swea City. Mrs B Holland moves into the Carey building this week. Bancroft attends Algona carnival. Pearl Evans from Cedar Falls visits local friends. Harvest and hay crops are plentiful. Mrs J W Duckmanton and Miss Benna depart for Armstrong due to TF W’s ill niece.
