Lee Center social notes mirror small town life

Henry Bessman and family visited Sam Nachazel in Alden on Sunday. Mrs Wm Tjarks and baby visited her father, Wm Anderson, on Tuesday. Locals attended Robbins circus in Iowa Falls Thursday. Louie Newton and family and Carl Aswegan and family were at Charley Jacques’s home Sunday evening. John Kreamer and family visited Del Kreamer’s home Sunday. Thad Wright and wife and son Alyn shopped in Alden Saturday. Several families visited Sam Nachazel Sunday afternoon. Paul Reed works for Del Kreamer. The Aswegans spent Monday at Grundy Center. Prairie View club met with Mrs J J Nachazel Wednesday. Ferne Case hosted schoolmates for a birthday party with gifts and games Wednesday afternoon. Light refreshments served. Ferne wished many more birthdays. Mr and Mrs Elof Ellefson spent Wednesday with their daughter near Georgetown. Mrs Lawrence Keller and children visited Ed Nelson’s Friday. Dell Kreamer and family visited Lafebergers Sunday evening.

Popejoy Honors Earnest Bessman On 22nd Birthday

A large crowd celebrated Earnest Bessman's 22nd birthday Tuesday evening. A flurry of local activity followed including visits from Mrs. Bergen, calls by Mrs. Fisher and Mrs. Carr, and many around town attending Claude Taylors sale. The eighth grade graduates received a banquet hosted by their mothers as a year ends.

Tuesday evening featured graduation diplomas for Lulu Petrie Florence Hanson Nahwista Carr Elwin Hammitt Ruth Philips Edna Crandall Robert Allen Edna Meyer Leroy Johnson and Nels Neilson. Dows visitors Lou Rummell and nearby families joined relatives at homes while Katrina Blankenship headed to Iowa Falls for summer work. Baby news included Lawrence Olson and Benny Hanson becoming parents as well as Mrs Olson formerly Mabel Nelson. Community events ranged from baccalaureate services in Dows to a successful primary program with substantial proceeds under Miss Folkers supervision.

Earnest Lange had an operation for removal of tonsils and adenoids at the Hampton hospital Saturday.

Miss Mildred Lewison from Kanawha visited John Larson's home. Lloyd Sweedler and family near Williams were guests at Roy Gilmore’s home Sunday.
