Obituary of William A Wilkinson central Iowa pioneer
William Austin Wilkinson aged 81 died December 10 1928 at Williams Iowa after a long illness of angina pectoris and heart failure. The funeral was held at two o clock Friday from the home of his son Clifford A Wilkinson and family in Williams with Rev C H Flesher of the M E church officiating. He was born April 8 1842 in Lincoln County Missouri and married Elizabeth Ann Tomlinson February 25 1862 at Jamestown Wisconsin. He lived near Alden and Williams for decades before moving to Williams seven years ago to reside with his sister Mrs Olive W Thompson and later with his son. Surviving children are Mrs Maude W Watson Walter E Wilkinson Clifford A Wilkinson and seven grandchildren. Burial was in Alden cemetery beside his wife who died October 25 1914. A large attendance of relatives and pioneer friends mourn his loss. Other relatives attending from a distance included Mrs Watson of San Bernardino California Walter E Wilkinson of East St Louis Illinois Mr and Mrs Fred A Bushman Mr and Mrs John Laird and Hugh Laird and Leland Watson of Alden.

P O Hours Christmas Post Office Open 9 to 10
The post office will be open for a full hour on Christmas day from 9 to 10 a m. For the first time in rural mail service history carriers will have a holiday but Alden carriers will stay at the office to deliver mail to rural patrons. The office opens Sunday before Christmas at 9 a m for country mail.

Hardin County Corn Show Reveals Disease Impact
