District Court to Convene Monday in Eldora

Judge Fry will open a four week term in Eldora with a heavy docket. Cases include Wasson vs Trown over disputed property rights and multiple civil actions such as notes, partition, open account, and divorce filings. Criminal cases will also be tried, keeping juries busy.

Congregational Church Seeks Fall Revival and Meetings

September marks fall work in school and church with vacations ended and renewed moral aspiration. Beginning next Sunday evening service resumes with the choir of young people. Sunday school at 10 am. sermon at 11 am titled The Three Greatest Words in Spoken or Written Language. An Ayiston meeting is planned for next Wednesday in the church parlors. Woman's Missionary Society met with Mrs. John Carney. Betty Alden club members presented program and a picnic supper followed.

Unearth Skeletons Near Alden on the Road

Workers Riley Beck Emil Bahy and Harry Parker unearthed fifteen skulls and numerous bones on the right of way near the Chas Brassfield place, northwest of Alden. Beads were found. speculation suggests an ancient Indian burying ground or battlefield. Mr and Mrs Edward Miller visit then depart for Waterloo and Janesville for school positions.

Parriott FarmER killed in auto crash near Sheffield

R R Parriott farmer aged 53 of Iowa Falls was found dead Wednesday morning under his overturned Willys Knight on the Jefferson highway south of Rockwell. The accident occurred Tuesday night while returning from a farm visit near Sheffield. cause unknown as he rode alone. The sheriff and coroner reported chest crushed by the steering wheel. Parriott resided with his wife on the Kennedy place west of town and owned farms north of town and near Sheffield. His two sons operate the Sheffield-area farm. A Tuesday farm bureau meeting at Ed Warner’s farm will feature Simmett Morris and a film on Poultry Pests with refreshments served. Daggett Family Reunion Brings Alden Area Kin Together

Last Sunday relatives and friends gathered four miles southwest of Alden for a Daggett family reunion. About 60 shared noon meals, then visited, sang, and enjoyed ice cream and cake. Grandfather Daggett, age 84, traveled 100 miles to attend. several relatives missed due to other events.

Eldora to mine soft coal near Huff estate

Eldora resteraunts rise as a four foot thick coal vein near Huff estate is to be opened soon. Local mining aims to cut freight costs and boost fuel supply while experienced miners run the operation. Hardin County at Fair Des Moines Exhibition

Hardin county sent a carload of baby beeves to Des Moines for the state fair. The live stock judging team included Maurice Cook Cecil Cook and Clare Russell. H C Boeke led the county booth in the agricultural building and showcased a strong exhibit. Hubbard Girls Clothing Club demonstrated county representatives and county garment club exhibits won first prize. Breeders Ralph Clampitt and O D Klein brought milking Shorthorns and Hampshire herd respectively to the Des Moines event.
