Garden City plans a new newspaper named Garden City Glean- F printed by Times Publishing at Buckeye. Businessmen seek a local paper, with a six column, six page layout and a Sept 1 print date. Subscription set at 78 cents yearly, with home print pages and a strong names list anticipated.
Last Thursday afternoon Professor G A Graves of Ackley fell while riding a colt. The colt toppled onto his chest crushing him, and he died a few hours later. He was nearly 40 and longtime superintendent of the Ackley school, retired recently. He was known as a courteous and fine old gentleman, still sharp in mind. The news comes as a shock to all who knew him.
A. Le Prouty reports a wild Sunday sprint by his team down Water Street. The block was demolished as they rumbled from the Thom on barn to the L. W. Rogers residence. The runaway struck a telephone pole, shattered plates at W. B Miller’s office, and ended with the buggy badly broken.
Central Time Table from Chicago and Northwestern Railway lists passenger trains to Chicago Express to Fort Dodge and Sioux City Fast Mail. Local freights and limiteds run daily with some exceptions. Trains 1 2 3 4 5 6 operate daily while some do not stop at certain towns.
