Democratic committee officials back up nominee's charges but offer no evidence. The report notes ongoing scrutiny of the Chief's actions amid the probe with no new documentation presented.
Officials of the Democratic National Committee told a Senate campaign costs panel that no evidence supports charges of Republican corruption by Governor James M. Cox and Wilbur Hush. Marsh testified that lists and subscriptions linked to the Barnes Albany Evening Journal suggest law violations, while White and Marsh warned of an expansive fundraising effort.
In Atarque New Mexico near Tucumcari two men died and a woman was mortally wounded after Julio Parez shot Pablo Correon and killed his wife. Parez was captured after a pursuit during which his throat was slit by Correon’s brother and father. He and the assailants were taken to Tucumcari jail.
Unsettled conditions with showers expected Thursday and Friday. Warmer in spots. Some areas may see clearer skies Thursday and Friday with milder temperatures.

E H Moore of Youngstown Ohio leaves for Chicago as a Democratic representative to present to the senate sub committee investigating campaign expenditures. He claims the Republican committee is raising a fund of fifteen million six thousand dollars and says he will urge the Department of Justice to act if witnesses refuse to provide evidence.
Local Santa Fe shop employees hope to return to a nine hour day within a week as national chairmen of crafts meet Santa Fe officials in Chicago. Differences over skilled versus unskilled labor and related disputes are being discussed to settle the issue. Currently workers quit at 4 PM while the railroad marks the quitting hour at 5 PM.

Samuel Gompers denounces the open shop plank adopted by the Chamber of Commerce of the United States as a dishonest device to undermine labor. He claims the measure serves financial power to control unions and push employers’ will through state machinery, threatening workers’ living standards.
