Senator Harding closed a Ohio campaign tour with a Cincinnati Music Hall address attacking Democratic missteps at home and arguing for self government and league caution. He pressed for constitutional government, warned against Versailles era policy, and urged political housecleaning before November 2.
The state Democratic committees moved to suppress an ugly anonymous circular that linked Warren G Harding to a genealogical report. Dallas officials warned party leaders in Bernalillo County to condemn the report and avoid encouraging its spread. A telegram from George White of the national committee reinforced the warning.
The long distance debater Mechem appeared braver in Santa Fe than in Albuquerque and faced questions on New Mexico life and politics. The Journal notes his remarks did little to prove governorship fitness while clarifying the political atmosphere and defining party contrasts between Democrats and Republicans.
The China Copper Company and Springer Coal interests are described as openly anti union and willing to use union workers to defeat Judge Hanna. The piece frames a life and death battle against him and urges a 8:15 PM attendance at the Armory to hear Hanna explain the situation.

Denver Colorado October 29 The weather overview reports fair conditions in New Mexico Saturday with local rain in the north portion and colder in the northeast. Arizona sees fair weather in the south and rain in the north with unsettled and colder Sunday likely bringing rain in the south and snow in the northeast. Conditions for the last 24 hours end at 6 pm show a maximum temperature around 68 degrees and light south winds with clear sky.
Merritt C. Mechem Republican governor hopeful spoke in Santa Fe criticizing the Albuquerque Morning Journal for not attending his Albuquerque event. He defended mine tax stance and warned that tax cuts require road and school program compromises while noting uncertainty about his own political future.
