Slump Reported in Santa Fe Operating Income for September
Net operating income of the Atchison Topeka and Santa Fe railway system for September fell by 1,035,319.13 to 6,047,775.81. Total revenues declined from 23,539,701.93 to 21,862,161.52 as a result. Mohair Sale in Otero County Reaches 52 Cents a Pound
Ninety thousand pounds of mohair were sold last week by Otero county growers with Pinon Mohair Growers association reporting bids on October 17. The contract to 62 cents a pound was awarded to a Boston firm represented by Commissioner Murphy. About 2,000 lambs will be shipped from the Pinon section as Mohair from San Andreas brought 50 cents a pound to Cohn Mills of San Antonio. Grass is reported better and the outlook for next season is bright.
