Away from the Fore River Ship Building yard the great war vessel sails toward Provincetown for a builder's trial. The North Dakota will conduct an official trial off the Maine coast next week.
Paris. The court over the dispute between Count Roni de Castellane and Princess de Sagan over their two eldest sons education ordered immediate enactment of the May 27 judgment. It requires the boys to be enrolled as resident pupils at the Lycee of Jansen for proper medical attention, despite the princess's earlier deferral on health grounds. The count then filed to enforce the court's instructions.

Cheyenne Wyoming October 28 J A Williamson a private in the Fourth field artillery at Fort Russell under the name Shaw has been taken to Virginia to answer charges of bigamy wife murder and forgery He has been sought for two years It is charged he pardoned his wife in Virginia when she accused him of being married to a 15 year old girl in Kentucky He enlisted in Kentucky under the name of a former employer.
The torpedo boat Thornton of the fleet escorting the presidential squadron from St Louis reached Natchez with news that the Wilkes ran aground near Vicksburg. Other fleet boats aided the Wilkes by attempting to pull her from the sand bar while tugs prepared to assist.
Five thousand people are expected to dine at the dry dock of the navy yard during the Lakes to Gulf Waterways convention in New Orleans. Local commercial groups push for naval station enlargement and will lobby visiting congressmen and senators to notice the project during the event.

Paris police arrest a man and a woman who call themselves Count and Countess Gutab on fraud charges for obtaining jewels worth 4500 dollars. The woman is identified as American, and records show she previously lived in New York after her first husband, named Beck, died.
The uncle disinherited his niece while Gubata proclaims himself a son of Archduke Othon of Austria. The Austrian embassy denies the claim. Denver, Oct. 28. G. B. Kendall, once identified as dead and buried at Deadwood fourteen years ago, and whose Woodmen of the World and Ancient Order of United Workmen policies were paid, is alive and well. Denver attorney Frank McLaughlin received a letter from Kendall and positively identified the handwriting as that of the supposed deceased. No location for Kendall's current whereabouts is given in the letter.
Chicago reports that the National Association of Agricultural Implement and Vehicle Manufacturers urged dissolution of corporations and reorganization to evade income tax. Their general counsel C F Moore said the tax on corporations with more than 5000 dollars in annual profit is unlikely to withstand Supreme Court challenge.

Mexico City reports the government will advance one million dollars to alleviate famine suffering among the poorer regions caused by corn shortages. The commitment was announced today.
New York October 28 Frederick Gebhardt alias Otto Mueller confessed to killing Anna Luther and boasted he could not face the electric chair saying they cannot prove more than manslaughter. His wife now recalls Gebhardt threatening to kill seven other women as she questions his past.
