Secretary Ballinger declares Curry's retirement not forced and says no charges prompted action. Washington had not received any resignation notice by last night.
Secretary Ballinger denied official notification of Governor Curry of New Mexico quitting and said no official resignation or serious charges exist. An October grand jury report criticizes the juror drawing system as fraudulent and irregular with selections resting on personal choice of jurors and their staff.
Governor Curry told his official family in Santa Fe that his retirement is irrevocable and will take effect next spring to focus on private affairs.
