Chicago Oct 26 Chairman William M Butler of the Republican National Committee urges workers to mobilize eight days before Election Day. He advocates continuing prosperity under Calvin Coolidge, warns against socialism, urges turnout to guarantee a Coolidge win and avoid congressional gridlock.
Budapest observe rapid housing by metal shell dwellings. Fireproof structures with veneer metal skins, built to four room bungalow plans and bath, can be erected in 24 hours. Price runs about 450.
Denver dispatch notes New Mexico pair Aronday and Tuesday with little temperature change. Arizona forecast calls for generally fair conditions Monday and Tuesday with minimal temperature variation.

Mrs. Lula Naert, 65, burned when her brick and frame apartment at 616 West Coal Avenue caught fire. A cloak saved her from worse harm as Misa Cecil Stewart and neighbor Roy Scott aided evacuations. Samuel Hale, a mid age, reputed wealthy Evanston steel man, killed himself with a shotgun near a Santa Fe hotel after lunch. A coroner's jury ruled death by suicide. Hale left a note to "Dick" claiming he was sick and this was the way out. He left a widow and three children, the latter in Chicago.
Miss Georgena Evangeline Bowman of Topeka High School will represent Kansas in the coronation ceremony at the Texas Cotton Exposition in Waco on November 4. Governor Davis announced the selection citing her beauty and personality as typical of Kansas. Bowman, a sophomore and class president, will travel with her mother.
Wu Pei Fu, ousted Pekin marshal, marches from Manchuria with heavy troops toward Langfang to confront Feng Yun Hsiang who seized Pekin and forced Tsao Kun from office. News notes strong reinforcements on the Wu Kaw railway, and guards rudely treat Japanese but aid foreigners. Reno report states exploration team led by Governor James G. Serugham uncovered six miles of buried city ruins near Beatty Nevada. Excavation yielded rock writings thousands of pottery fragments and other pre historic articles according to a telegram from Beatty.
