A Rhineland republic was proclaimed at Aix La Chapelle with proclamations to the people promising freedom and peace. The occupy- ing authorities display Green, White and Red banners and pledge to secure food and work while warning against resistance.
The Aix La Chapelle declaration of a Rhineland republic is viewed by Berlin officials as a local matter. Separatists with Franco-Belgian support back it, but it is not expected to spread to other Rhineland towns. The cabinet met to discuss the Bavarian problem and urgent potential solutions.

Willam A. Bergman an 18 year old Denver apprentice was accidentally shot in the abdomen as he prepared to exit a car near Deer Trail. Three companions said Bergman knocked a shotgun from its seat and the weapon discharged. He died two hours later at Dr. Rossiter’s office. Coroner Tiedt and Sheriff Bennett deemed the shooting accidental.
Hiezanan Mont Oct 21 Jury selection begins in district court for Seth Danner charged with first degree murder in the November 14 1920 shooting of Mr and Mrs John Sprouse automobile tourists. Wife Iva Danner witnessed the killing and may testify amid divorce dispute over admissibility of her confession. Fort Morgan Colorado October 21 Kimon Van Bradt 19 of Fort Morgan and Miss Margaret Schell 18 of Bozeman Montana were thrown from an auto returning from a Brush Cole dance. They were seriously injured as the car struck a rut. Van Bradt suffered a dislocated shoulder and two broken ribs while Schell broke a collar bone. Two other occupants were seriously hurt.
Chicago date Oct 21 Arthur Thorn 23 and Miss Bernice Halvorsen 17 of Palmer Mich were to wed in a few days and were found asphyxiated in Miss Halvorsen room at her aunt's home in Chicago Police theorize a death pact after learning Thorn had a wife living in Nebraska The incident is under investigation.
