A report attributes entrenched radical influence to government ranks with Socialists Reds and allied groups cited across departments. Watson asserts these factions include personnel from multiple agencies and influence policy discussions and appointments.

Washington October 30 Italian ambassador to the United States Count Macchi di Cellere died in a hospital tonight as he was to undergo surgery. He had been ill since Saturday and his death was caused by mesenteric thrombosis. He was 63. The ambassador was taken from the embassy to the hospital where his death occurred on the operating table. Countess di Cellere and embassy staff were present.
Washington reports that the House committees may be investigated under resolutions by Representative Aswell Democrat of Louisiana. The measures seek accounting of expenses including salaries incidentals and attorney fees for the eight investigating committees.
The United States will not join international commissions or deploy troops for plebiscites until Senate ratification of the peace treaty. State and War departments clarified no American participation without Senate approval, while debates on the Johnson amendment and Ireland question continue in Congress.

Alex Wilson, a Black man, shot and killed Ruth Murrah, 18, on Miss Murrah’s farm near Skidmore. Wilson was captured by a separate posse and was being brought to Marianna when a citizen posse killed him nearby tonight. Estelle Clifton was present. The incident follows a violent search in the area.
Plans announced by the Post Office Department to extend the aerial mail service from the current New York to Washington and New York to Cleveland and Cleveland to Chicago routes to a cross continental flight from New York to San Francisco by next spring.
